Hauwa Saleh

Hauwa Saleh Abubakar is a writer and poet. She is the author of ‘How To Practice Forgetting; a poetry collection on Okada Books. She was shortlisted twice for the Nigerian Students Poetry Prize. She has a piece in the Afro Anthology of Creative Non-fiction, ‘The Weight of Years.’ She is a contributor to Penprofile and Jaruma Magazine. She considers herself an accidental lawyer and aims to make people ‘feel something' with her works.

women don’t have to do something major like save a nation or participate in politics to have their battles acknowledged. We are all Kim Ji Youngs; faceless young women, battling daily misogyny in our lives from our houses to schools to workplaces.
